SHACMAN X5000 Trucks

Compare X5000 tractor configurations around your trailer, route and destination requirements. The documented 6x4 examples below distinguish engine, axle ratio and suspension choices; other vehicle applications require a separate technical specification.

X5000 vehicle applications

Existing catalogue images illustrate vehicle types, not the exact South Africa reference configurations below. Engine, emissions, cab equipment and legal loading cannot be verified from appearance alone.

X5000 6x4 tractor catalogue reference; exact configuration to confirm

X5000 6x4 tractor

Start with combined weight, trailer type, route gradient and fifth-wheel loading. Compare the documented M10 and M13 examples below before requesting a destination-specific technical sheet.

Compare 6x4 reference specifications

X5000 8x4 dump truck catalogue reference; body specification to confirm

X5000 8x4 dump application

Provide material density, body dimensions, loading equipment and tipping-site access. Confirm chassis and legal axle loads with the proposed body, not a generic payload range.

Compare dump truck requirements

X5000 6x4 dump truck catalogue reference; body specification to confirm

X5000 6x4 dump application

Describe loaded gradients, road surface, haul distance and material abrasion. Body steel, hydraulic lifting equipment and drivetrain need to be matched as a system.

Discuss a dump truck specification

X5000 mixer truck catalogue reference; drum and chassis specification to confirm

X5000 mixer application

Confirm concrete density, operating load, drum equipment, plant-to-site distance and discharge access. Nominal drum volume is not evidence of legal carrying capacity.

Review mixer procurement inputs

Two documented X5000 6x4 tractor configurations

These examples come from the supplied 2026 regional configuration sheet. Both are lightweight, extended high-roof 6x4 tractor entries within a South Africa-specific assembly programme. They are not generic complete-vehicle specifications for all six markets named in the regional catalogue. Availability, supply format and registration documentation require written confirmation.

Technical source: supplied 2026 regional configuration catalogue, X5000 tractor entries with leaf-spring and rear-air-suspension variants. Power is quoted in PS, the source unit. Axle ratings and tank capacity do not establish legal payload or operating range. The catalogue photos above are not evidence that either configuration is pictured.

Match the tractor to the trailer and route

Use the tractor truck selection guide to compare drive layouts. A 4x2 request requires a separate specification; do not transfer the 6x4 reference values to it.

Engine power is only one selection input

Give the loaded combination weight, trailer layout, gradients, altitude, cruise speed and daily distance. A numerically lower final-drive ratio changes the gearing relationship; it does not by itself prove lower fuel use or adequate starting performance. Review engine, AMT, final drive and tyre rolling radius together. Neither table entry guarantees a fuel-consumption figure.

Leaf springs or rear air suspension?

The source lists both arrangements under each design model. Confirm the suspension variant explicitly rather than relying on the model code alone. Discuss trailer coupling height, load distribution, road surface and access to suspension diagnostics and replacement parts before choosing an arrangement.

Confirm the coupling and inspection scope

Include fifth-wheel height and rating, kingpin size, trailer electrical and air connections, rear clearance and turning space in the technical review. Before shipment, check vehicle identity, engine and transmission labels, axle specification, suspension and the agreed documents. A photograph or a regional catalogue is not a substitute for the order technical sheet.

Application guide: low-roof 6x4 tractor

For construction supply and mixed-road trailer work, review the X5000 6x4 low-roof tractor buying guide, including cab choice, trailer matching, route inputs and export inspection.

X5000 configuration questions

Are 440 PS and 480 PS specifications available for every destination?

No. These reference entries belong to a South Africa-oriented assembly programme. Confirm supply format, engine emissions and destination registration documents before treating either configuration as an orderable complete truck.

Does a 13-tonne axle mean a 13-tonne legal payload?

No. A component rating is not a legal vehicle payload. Tractor, trailer, cargo, fifth-wheel loading and local axle and gross-weight limits must be checked together.

Can the photos confirm the engine, suspension or emissions?

No. Photos show reference vehicles, not proof of the configuration in the comparison table. Confirm the vehicle identity, component labels and agreed technical sheet during inspection.
